The Busy Bees Mission

Our mission at Busy Bees Preschool is to provide a safe and healthy environment for early childhood education through play, imagination and love. Our academic foundation is based on the belief that each Bee's individual strengths and personality contribute to the eclectic nature of the Hive.

More than Kinder Prep

We can all agree, learning should be fun!

It should also be messy, exploratory, patient and observational.

We ask questions, explore outcomes, use our looking eyes to focus on details and make plans with our Big Beautiful Brains!

At Busy Bees Preschool, Teacher Ms. Heidi facilitates a hands-on, personalized approach for each of our Bees. We use varied mediums for creative expression and devote significant time to not only outside play, but creative expression as well. Every Bee in our Hive works to build a personal learning portfolio as a beautiful keepsake for the year.

Weekly Hive chores lay the foundation for caring in our community, homes and schools. Pride in self and a job-well-done make all the difference in growing Bees with confidence, ready for the BIG Garden.

Our daily lessons and monthly themes cover 23 different areas of age-appropriate academic learning while also modeling peer interaction and connection. Learning comes in all forms. This includes not only traditional academia but social emotional growth as well. KinderBees leaving our Hive feel friendly, confident and ready to change the world!

Daily Lesson Plans Featuring:

Every school day in the Hive is different! But there are a few things you can count on most everyday!

Creative Arts

We do something creative every day! Sometimes crafts, sometimes hands-on group activities but always as messy as each Bee prefers. We create art but we also practice optimal cutting technique, fine-motor skills and flexible thinking for greater inclusion and creativity.

Circle Time with Daily Theme

We study our units for about 5-6 weeks. This gives us plenty of time to fully explore the subjects we enjoy while making a day of the ones that don't perk our antennae. During Circle Time we discuss numbers, letters, patterns, days of the week and the weather.

Child-led Free Play

The Bees are given significant windows of free-choice-time to explore their curiosities. From blocks, to baby dolls, trucks and bubbles- the Bees choose the free-play activities they enjoy most either with friends, or independently.

SMALL GROUP TABLETOP ACTIVITIES

We offer several opportunities throughout the day for the Bees to gather around the table for a game, puzzle or creative activity. This allows for small group communication and leadership dynamics to shine.

Dance Curriculum

But we call it a DANCE PARTY! We love moving our bodies in fun, safe and creative ways. We honor all levels of participation and allow the Bees to decide what feels best for their body. We encourage free-choice movement without embarrassment or shame!

Messy Outdoor Free Play

The Bees come to school in play clothes so we can get wet and dirty! We focus on play without worrying about keeping clothes clean or dry. We offer outdoor rain suits for Bees who prefer to stay dry but still want to play in the water.

Enrollment

How does enrollment work? When you request a tour, you will be personally invited to visit the Hive by appointment. During your tour, you will see all of our learning spaces. After your tour you will have the option to complete digital waitlist paperwork for your preferred enrollment year. There is no cost to be added to the waitlist.

Busy Bees enrolls all our Bees from our waitlists. When families inquire now for future enrollment, Teacher Ms. Heidi hand selects the age-appropriate waitlist and closes that waitlist at 10 potential families. This means the Fall 2027 list will only have 10 families, as well as the waitlists for Fall 2028 and Fall 2029.

Why do we close the waitlist at 10? Because it's the very most we could ever enroll at one time! We do this to manage expectations and help keep disappointments to a minimum. Every family on our waitlist has met with Teacher Ms. Heidi, toured our preschool home and found us Grown Ups to be compatible. We only offer priority placement circumstances to re-enrolling families with younger siblings of graduated Bees.

It is normal for the waitlist to naturally shorten itself over time. Often, life gets in the way of the future plans we make, and families need to give up their waitlist spot before enrollment time. It's sad when this happens but does allow Heidi to connect with additional families and add to the current enrollment year or future waitlist.

When a waitlist is closed, it means we are no longer touring for that enrollment season. We DO enroll year round from the waitlists, in the event of a surprise opening. If you would like to be added to our future enrollment waitlists, please still request a tour today!
